lyrics
The rock on my shelf, you had one yourself
And it’s holding a time we were awed
And for those we exchanged a small tower we made
That I’m sure long since fell to the shore
The string round my wrist it still fray and untwists
And I’m fearful of when it will fall
But I swear on the brink I will hold it in ink
That won’t answer to gravity’s call
You bought me a home for the songs that I own
To hold them all with loving care
It keeps them all safe like your arms round my waist
When we danced in the kitchen light glare
We were freezing our toes in unknowable glows
And you hand in my pocket was cold
But the stars in the sky they were bigger than I
And your eyes took in all they could hold

I do not normally cry because of music, or fiction in general. Chords made me cry. Every time I listen to it, it still feels like a warm, tight goodbye hug.
But it isn't what convinced me to buy this album, because damn, I knew I would right from the start of Secret Worlds, and knew it ever more at every song. The way the songs here can combine to tell a whole new story, and even reference others from The Horror and the Wild, is just magnificent. Mayana
I discovered this band mere weeks ago through pure chance; someone recommended Fair in a discussion about wholesome songs. And it was; love at first listen. YouTube recommended me Battle Cries next, so I gave that a listen too, and the the energy and the overlapping lyrics made me fall in love anew.
I bought this album and Ruin less than a day later. Everything TAD have made is true art, different from everything else I've heard. Mayana
On “Meet Me By the River,” Dawn Landes’s self-described “Nashville record,” buoyant country melodies settle deep into lush instrumentation. Bandcamp New & Notable May 7, 2018
